Quick Portrait Sketches

Now this is where I definitely come un-stuck. Portraits I love to do, but I must admit, I'm not the best at. These ones are of my lovely grand daughter and also one is supposed to be Emma Watson (of Harry Potter fame). Note to myself....must keep practicing.

Winter on the Broads

How can you not help to be inspired when you look out of your patio windows in mid winter, with snow on the ground and a definite chill in the air. Birds and animals out looking for food, leaving tracks in the snow, and the distant sound of the geese flying over in the background!

Barn Owl on Welsh Slate

Standing about 20" tall this fine piece of Welsh Slate was dug out of my parents garden in Mid Wales. It weighs a ton and once washed it looked really inviting to do something with. I was on a "Owl" fixation at the time and ended up painting this one in Acylics and finishing with a gloss varnish to protect it from the elements.

Acrylic on board painted around 2 years back. The picture, as so many of mine, was inspired by the views of the countryside and wildlife right outside my Coastal house in Norfolk.
From Barn Owls on the hunt to Sparrowhawks and terns, all are to be seen and have been seen.
